Potato Slices and Sunday Mornings

I have an obsession for any form of fried potatoes: be it french fries or mojos. Our house is far from civilization, so you can imagine how much I suffer every time I'm craving for something in particular. Yesterday, I woke up really hungry and found nothing worth eating our refrigerator. Out of desperation, I looked through our kitchen and found a potato there. I decided to fry it along with an egg to serve as my breakfast.

It actually turned out great. I only coated the potato slices with seasoning mix - the kind that is used for fried chicken. I deep fried them for a 5-7 minutes, I guess, or until I was satisfied with the color. After I got them on a plate, I sprinkled a little salt. My dip was two parts ketchup and one part mayonnaise. It's the perfect way to solve a craving for potatoes and it's so easy to make.

I plan to make these again along with homemade chicken or fish fillet. If I actually have the time to cook, I'll definitely get to that.

It's back to school tomorrow. :( I'm not thrilled about it at all. Also, expect that my blog will be dead most of the time because I'll be too busy with school. Of course, I'll try my best to update as much as I can. As for now, I'll try to enjoy my last day of freedom.

  2. Try leaving the skins on, Jemm. Tastes better. Hehehe. Try seasoning the potatoes with salt, then dipping them in milk before dredging into fried chicken mix. Saves you time in mixing up your own breading...

    1. I'll do that next time. I'm not sure how to properly scrub the potatoes clean though. Thanks. :D
