Welcoming Changes (+mini giveaway)

As mentioned in my previous updates in other social networking sites, I will be getting a custom domain after March 10. I've weighed the pros and cons. I will lose traffic and other stats like page rank, but I read that if you wanted to be a serious blogger, a custom domain is a must. Also, I think the previously mentioned setbacks will eventually get smoothed out sooner or later once I start posting more.

So, this post will serve as a little notice to all my readers and (potential) sponsors. Draco Princess might be gone for a bit, but will be up again shortly once my custom domain is ready. Losing the stats that I have now kinda scares me, but then again, I remembered that my first post on this blog was about being fearless. I have to know how to take the plunge sometimes. I can't always play safe.

(I just hope everything goes well.)

Anyway, I'm also unsure if I can post a lot for the next few days because I'm trying my best to catch up with school. If you regularly read this blog, I'm sure you know that I was out for almost a month because I was recovering from dengue. I'm trying my best to get back on track because I want to graduate this March. Of course, I'll post whenever I can. For now, I think I have to focus on my priorities. At the moment, my priorities are my studies.

I'll leave everyone with a mini-giveaway. It'll only last for a week or so. I decided to do one on the whim. I'm also merging this with the "giveaway" I promised to the readers who commented on a post for a contest that I joined. If you commented, you get more points. I hope you guys are into hair accessories and nail art. <3

You may join through the Rafflecopter app below. Please complete all tasks. Failure to do so will end in disqualification. This giveaway is only open to residents of the Philippines.

  4. Just look at it this way sis...you let go of a few gems (like the PR) but you'll gain more because you're ready to accept more. You won't actually lose the traffic...they have a redirection thing so if people click on the old URL, they get redirected to the new URL...I think yung PR at Alexa ranks lang naman affected as far as I know. You'll get those back in no time. We all started with low ranks naman...no harm going back to square one for just a while. You won't lose your regular followers rest assured.

  6. Aileen is right sis. You won't lose the traffic. As far I know, you will be back to 0 sa Alexa at Page Rank but after posting and keeping your blog alive, everything will be back. Actually ako I get my own domain nun November, then back to zero lahat. Matrabaho lang but I gained my PR and mas tumaas pa after almost 3 months. Good luck to you and I'll join your giveaway. Thanks!

  13. Good luck on your domain. You will only lose your page rank but by May, you will regain it naman as long as you keep posting. And you will gain a lot, believe me, if you are open to monetizing your blog while giving relevant content.

  20. Goodluck on the giveaway and I do know that the setback of migrating to your own domain is only temporary. If you wait longer to switch then it will take longer to get all your stats back. :)

  26. Ooh, this means you're going to have a new domain tomorrow! I don't think you won't lose your previous stats if you connect the new domain to your current Blogger blog. Only the rank will be affected. At least, that's the way I remember it. :-)
